Route selection

Consistent exit IP. Stable connections.

First confirm that the tool supports your region, then test the route with a real conversation or request. A route label is no substitute for testing in the app.

AI tool access. Check network and account access separately.

Getting ChatGPT to work involves more than loading the home page. Sign-in, submitting prompts, streaming responses and transferring attachments may use different domains and connections. A visible home page only confirms that some resources loaded; it does not prove that a full conversation or API request will work. Troubleshoot by following the actual workflow and noting whether the issue occurs before sign-in, after sending a prompt or while a response is streaming.

Region checks. AI services may assess eligibility based on exit IP, account details, payment information and organization policies. The exit region must fall within the tool’s currently supported regions. Changing routes cannot change account eligibility or replace a subscription to the tool itself. VPNDream network plans are separate from fees charged by AI tools.

Exit IP risk checks. Shared exit IPs may trigger additional verification, and frequent region changes may prompt account security checks. If you see a verification page, check your account status, browser session and current exit IP before doing anything else; avoid repeatedly refreshing or switching regions. Encryption and exit IP reputation are separate concerns: military-grade encryption does not guarantee that a service will accept a particular exit IP.

Persistent connections and streaming. Streaming responses need an uninterrupted connection while they are generated. A quick speed test does not guarantee that a long response will finish without interruption. Changes to your local Wi-Fi, device sleep, proxy rule switches and upstream service load can all affect output. Test with the same exit IP, complete a real conversation, then check any features you actually need, such as attachments, voice or code completion.

Tools and routes. Match the route to the request.

The table below offers configuration guidance, not a guarantee of availability. Supported regions, account requirements and access methods can change; check each tool’s official documentation before use.

Tool Key network requirements Route selection guidance What to verify
ChatGPT Sign-in flow, region checks and uninterrupted streaming responses Keep the exit IP consistent in a supported region; compare IEPL dedicated lines with relay routes After signing in, send a prompt and check the complete response and attachment handling
Claude Account eligibility, exit IP checks and long responses Check the officially supported regions first, then test candidate routes Check web sessions and API access separately
Gemini Account region, sign-in session and feature availability Choose a stable exit IP that meets the region requirements for the feature Feature eligibility may differ between personal and organization accounts
Copilot Microsoft account sign-in; developer products also require IDE authentication Use a consistent exit IP policy for authentication and actual requests Distinguish Microsoft Copilot from GitHub Copilot
Midjourney Current official access point, authentication flow and image loading Keep interactive connections and image downloads stable Check whether generated images can be viewed and downloaded
Cursor Editor process connectivity, model requests and streaming completions Confirm IDE traffic uses the intended route, then compare route types After web sign-in succeeds, check whether editor requests still fail

Copilot covers more than one access scenario. The web assistant and coding assistant use different account systems, authorization methods and request domains. Browser access does not prove that editor completions will work. Cursor also requires checking the editor’s own network behavior, not just the browser. For Midjourney, use the current official access point and check both task submission and image loading.

IEPL dedicated lines, relay routes and direct connections use different network paths; they do not determine tool authorization. Direct connections may be suitable when the path between your local network and the service works well. Relays add a forwarding step, and performance depends on both the entry point and the onward path. IEPL dedicated lines are worth comparing when connection stability matters. Actual results depend on your local ISP, time of use and tests with the target service.

Account access. Keep the session environment consistent.

Before signing in, confirm that the tool offers the required features in your region and that your account type is eligible. Keep the route unchanged during sign-in so the authentication page, authorization redirect and tool homepage use the same exit IP where possible. Browser extensions, split-tunnel rules and system proxies may handle different requests separately, leaving you authenticated but unable to return to the app.

If sign-in loops, check that your device clock is correct, the browser allows necessary cookies and the authentication window is not blocked. Testing in a separate browser session can help distinguish stale session data from network issues. Organization-managed accounts may also be subject to admin policies; follow your organization’s process. Avoid repeatedly submitting the same sign-in request after consecutive failures.

An unsupported region and an incorrect password are different problems. For the former, check the official service regions and exit IP; for the latter, use the tool’s account recovery process. Frequent CAPTCHA prompts do not necessarily mean the route is down; they may indicate exit IP reputation issues, unusual request frequency or account security checks. Read the exact page message before trying another route in the same region.

VPNDream requires no email address; create an account with a username and password. This applies only to VPNDream and does not mean ChatGPT, Claude or other tools use the same account requirements.

Web and API. Configure and test them separately.

The web app typically uses a browser session, while API calls are made by a process that sends credentials with each request. Being able to chat on the web does not mean you have API credits, model access or organization authorization. When an API request fails, check authentication, permissions, quota, request format and network connectivity separately instead of assuming every error is a route issue.

Command line: check which proxy the process actually uses

Terminal applications may not use the system proxy. Check the documentation for your SDK or HTTP client to see which proxy environment variables it reads, which proxy protocols it supports and where DNS resolution takes place. Get the proxy address and port from your local client rather than copying someone else’s settings. Restart the calling process after making changes, then test with a request that contains no sensitive information.

If the browser works but command-line requests time out, first check whether the proxy variables are set only in another terminal, whether the client is running and whether local security software is blocking the process. Automatic SDK retries may hide the original error, so keep details of the first failure. Longer generation tasks need suitable connection and read timeouts; choose settings based on the SDK documentation and the task.

IDE extensions: distinguish local and remote execution

The editor UI, extension host and remote development environment may run in different places. Even after authorization succeeds in a local browser, plugin requests may come from a remote machine. Identify the process that actually sends the request, then check the IDE proxy settings, extension settings and remote environment network separately. Do not assume the system proxy covers every extension.

CI and containers: configure the execution environment

A proxy on your laptop is not automatically available to a CI runner. Configure network access and credentials for hosted CI according to the platform and tool policies. For self-hosted runners, check the machine’s exit IP, firewall and DNS resolution. A loopback address inside a container points to the container itself and may not reach the host’s client; configure it for the actual network topology.

Store API keys in secret variables provided by the execution environment, never in a code repository, webpage or log. Remove authorization headers, subscription links, cookies and private prompt content from troubleshooting materials. VPNDream provides network connectivity; it does not issue AI tool keys or replace API billing and access controls on the target platform.

Symptoms. Find the cause before changing routes.

The homepage loads, but a conversation keeps waiting after you send it. What should you check first?

Check whether the tool reports a service issue, then see whether the request was sent. Static pages and conversation requests may use different domains, so an incomplete split-tunnel configuration can leave the page working while conversations fail. Keep the account and prompt unchanged while testing the current route and another candidate route in the same region. If every route fails at the same step, check account permissions and browser state next.

A response stops midway. Is the connection too slow?

Not necessarily. A streaming connection can drop because of Wi-Fi changes, device sleep, client rule changes, proxy read timeouts or the service terminating the request. Keep the device online and the exit IP unchanged, then retry with a similar task. If only a development script is interrupted, check the SDK timeout and streaming read logic rather than simply adding more plan data.

The service says my region is restricted. Will changing countries fix it?

There is no guarantee. A service may check account region, eligibility and exit IP together. Check the officially supported regions first, then confirm that your current exit IP meets the requirements. If the account itself is ineligible, follow the tool’s official process. Do not try to resolve this by falsifying account details or repeatedly switching regions.

The website works, but the API or Cursor still fails. How can I narrow it down?

Start with the error message. For authentication errors, check credentials; for access denied, check model access and organization authorization; for quota errors, check the tool’s billing account. For connection timeouts, check the process proxy, DNS resolution and route. For Cursor, also check the editor and extension host network settings: successful web sign-in does not mean editor requests use the same path.

What information should I include in a support ticket?

Include the tool, operating system, web or API scenario, route name, time of the issue, exact error message and steps to reproduce it. Remove sensitive account details, keys and subscription links from screenshots and logs. Open a ticket from the user panel and mention whether other websites work and what happened after testing another route in the same region. This helps distinguish local connection issues from problems with the target service.

Route selection. Test your use case before comparing plans.

Start by checking which regions the tool supports. Within an eligible region, compare IEPL dedicated lines, relay routes and direct connections using the same device, task and similar local network conditions. For everyday conversations, check that the full response arrives; for coding assistants, check that completions and longer requests stay connected; for image tools, check task submission and downloads. Do not judge by route names or a single page load.

Configure split tunneling to cover authentication and service requests without sending all unrelated traffic through the same exit IP. If only some features stop working after a tool update, check for new request domains and consult the official documentation and client routing rules. Keep the region consistent where possible. If you need to change routes, save your work first and avoid switching during sign-in or a generation task.

VPNDream covers 90+ countries and 230+ routes, with unlimited simultaneous devices. Supports Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. Clients and subscriptions are available after signing in; iOS downloads require an active plan. Connecting multiple devices at once does not mean every tool account can be shared freely; follow each platform’s rules.

Choose a data plan based on how often you use the service. Monthly plans: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, or ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date; mid-cycle upgrades are prorated by the remaining days. Data packs: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB or ¥658/3000GB. They do not expire and remain available until used. Text, attachments and image tasks use different amounts of data. Check your dashboard usage before adjusting your plan, and avoid estimating task counts without verified data.

Payment methods include Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT, with a 60-day money-back guarantee. Visit the routes page to review route types and regions, then compare data allowances and billing on the plans page. Eligibility and feature availability are subject to each tool’s official guidance and your own testing.
